Our Inspiration
Our Father, or "Tata" as we called him, was the joy and inspiration of our life, and the inspiration for our venture into the world of care giving for those suffering with dementia.

When he was close to 40 years old, Tata came across the opportunity to rebuild a home for the elderly in our home country of Romania. This home was originally just two large bedrooms, one for the men and the other for the ladies. He rebuilt this home to enable each person to have their own private bedroom, giving each individual their privacy.

With an instinctive awareness that one's spirit needed as much care as their body, Tata built a fountain outdoors for beauty and serenity, a little church for them to attend, fruit trees, and a garden, creating a social atmosphere that was important to add to their life.

Later when he moved to the capital of Romania as an executive, he continued to help people, even those many considered "throw aways", with counseling, creating jobs for them, and other needs. When he became ill with Alzheimer's at the age of 70 we were devastated. He had been the foundation of our family and watching this beloved man deteriorate before our eyes was heartbreaking. His memories faded away, but his goodness and care for others remained. Taking care of him in his last years was truly a joy, one for which we will be forever grateful.

Sadly, Mama is now suffering from the same debilitating disease and we are grateful to have the facility to care for her when the time comes, as well as others who need to have this full time service.

Our goal is to give our residents a home in which they will feel comfortable knowing they are genuinely cared for physically, emotionally and spiritually.
